Wine Tourism
Wine tourism is one of the fastest growing niche industries in the world. But what is Wine tourism? Let's start by defining tourism first. Tourism is travel for recreational purposes or provision of goods and services to attract tourists. Wine tourism is pretty much the same but it involves recreational travel to Wine producing regions. As a Wine tourist one would like to taste the locally produced Wines; meet the Winemakers; go on a guided tour of vineyards; and understand the culture and process of Wine making in the region of interest.

Popular Wine Tourism Destinations: Australia, Canada, France, Greece, Hungary, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA

Present and Future of Wine Tourism: Wine tourism industry is going through a major change throughout the world. Wine tourism is no longer limited to tasting and buying Wines at the Winery. After great success of comprehensive Wine tours of Napa Valley (California) and popularity of south Australia's structured Wine indusrty, Wineries all around the world are trying to lure Wine enthusiasts by offering irrestible Wine tour package, including an indulging experience with locally produced Wines, taste of regional food, accommodation, sight-seeing tours, and other recreational facilities. Wine tourism is rapidly transforming itself into a multi-billion dollar industry and many Universities are adapting fast by offering bespoke courses in Wine tourism.
